Ice Plant – Oscularia deftoides in 5" nursery pot

LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY

☀️As a succulent, this plant needs at least 6-8 hours of light. Without some proper sunlight, your ice plant will stop growing, or it will grow tall and leggy. It is preferred that you provide artificial lights close to it in our area, especially during the winter months.

💧Ice plants are succulents (they hold water in their leaves), so they don't do well when sitting in constantly moist soil. Let the top 2 to 4 Inches of soil dry out between waterings. This will probably mean watering once every 2 weeks— but be sure to check regularly. Once the leaves start to slightly wrinkle or shrivel, it's time to water.

💊 As slow-growing houseplants, ice plants don't require regular fertilizing. Once every 3-4 months will suffice. Feed during the spring and summer months with a general purpose houseplant fertilizer that has a PK (nitrogen-phosphorous-potassium) ratio of approx. 11-10-11. For the amount to use, follow product label instructions. No fertilizer is needed during the winter months when growth naturally slows.

🌡️ Ice plants prefer average household temperatures ranging from 65 to 75°F. At night and in the winter, ice plants can handle a cooler environment, down to 55°F, though they should never be kept in temperatures below 50°F for any prolonged period of time.

🪴 Repot every 2 years during the spring to encourage health and growth. Use a slightly larger pot with good drainage. Post-repotting, position in bright light and water sparingly once settled to avoid root rot. This succulent plant likes a well-draining potting mix, so been in some extra sand and perlite to improve drainage.

🐜  All of  plants from Passionate Gem are treated monthly with a natural spray consisting of hydrogen peroxide, natural soap and neem oil diluted with water- but that doesn't mean once they go to a new home it can't catch a critter infestation from surrounding plants, soil or even cut flowers can be a carrier of pests. Preventative maintenance is key! Check your plants often, clean leaves by giving it the occasional shower or wiping with a clean damp cloth. Use clean pots and fresh quality soil when transplanting. A spray, like mentioned above, is a really great preventative measure as well.

Planter not included.
