Stunning work by once-local Fairbanks, Alaska artist, Kirsten Olson.

Oxidation fired porcelain with matte ash glaze, inlaid designs (not recommended in microwave—hand wash or gentle dishwasher cycle).

Measures approximately 4.5" across at rim x 3" deep

The designs are referential to the Yup'ik ivory objects Kirsten was fortunate enough to work with while at The Museum of the North. Each piece is carved with a unique design, just as the ivory objects are. Her works strives to achieve the perfect blending of “art” and “artifact” in her ceramic work.

As each piece is unique, slight variations in shape and size are common. The designs on ceramic piece are distinct, and may differ from what is pictured.
