💊 Dracaenas benefit from consistent once a month fertilization. Feed during the purpose houseplant Torthserth a general PK (nitrogen-phosphorous-potassium) ratio of approximately 10-10-10. For the amount to use, follow product label instructions. No fertilizer is needed during the winter months when growth naturally slows.

💧Dracaenas do not require a lot of water and are happiest when their soil is kept slightly moist but never soggy. Water about every 1-2 weeks allowing the soil to dry between waterings. You can also help keep it hydrated by misting its leaves 1-2 times a week. They can be watered more during the growing season and less during the fall and winter.

☀️Dracaenas are low-light tolerant, but you still want to give them bright indirect light to encourage growth. Make sure not to leave them in bright direct light, as that can brown their edges. If you notice that your leaves are small or the variegation is fading, this is your sign it needs more light.

🌡️ Dracaena plants prefer temperatures between about 60°F and 70°F. Overnight, they can withstand about a 10-degree drop in temp. Cold drafts or extended periods of cold can be harmful and may stunt their growth. Keep it away from any heaters or cooling vents to maintain a more consistent temp. They prefer higher humidity but can adapt. If leaves are browning on the tips it's a sign it's not getting enough moisture.

🪴Do not repot right away. Let the plant stay in its nursery pot for at least a few months to get used to its new home. Most plants go dormant in the winter so it's best to not repot them then because they could go into shock. It's best to repot every 2-3 years during the growing months of spring and summer. This plant grows well in a standard potting mix. It is beneficial to blend in some sand and perlite to improve drainage. They can become slightly root-bound.

🐜All plants from Passionate Gem are treated monthly with a natural spray consisting of hydrogen peroxide, natural soap and neem oil diluted with water--but that doesn't mean once they go to a new home it can't catch a critter infestation from surrounding plants or soil. (Even flowers can be a carrier of pests!)  Preventative maintenance Is key! Check your plants often, clean leaves by giving the occasional shower or wiping with a clean damp cloth. Use clean pots and fresh quality soil when transplanting. A spray, like mentioned above, is a really great preventative measure as well.

Follow these care tips to ensure your plant is not only surviving but thriving!
