Wandering Dude Inch Plant in 5" pot

Inch plants are fast growing indoor plants that can grow an inch per week (true to its namesake)when given proper care. They easily become leggy when the plant does not receive enough light. Routinely trim the stems to promote new growth and maintain a compact and bushy appearance. It's very easy to propagate the cuttings and add back to the soil or make a new one!

☀️ As a tropical plant, the inch plant needs bright light to thrive. However, it's important not to put it in extended periods of direct sunlight. Instead, place it near a bright window for plenty of indirect light. Plant lights are good too if looking for artificial but natural light.

🌡️ Temperatures ranging from 60-75°F are fine for your inch plant, but do not lower the temperature below 55°F. Avoid large swings in temperature as well as hot and cold drafts. Keeping your inch plant in an area with about 60% humidity is ideal Since most homes sit around 30-50% humidity, you can provide additional humidity from a humidifier, pebble tray, or daily misting.

💧 The soil should be kept consistently moist. Water when the top couple of inches of soil are dry. Do not let the soil stay soggy, but avoid letting the soil dry out all the way through. It is completely normal to need less water during the winter when the plant is not actively growing. Monitor the soil to determine when it is best to water.

💊 fertilize once or twice a month during the growing season. Feed during the spring and summer months with a fertilizer that has a NPK (nitrogen-phosphorous-potassium) ratio of approximately 10-10-10. For the amount to use, follow product label instructions. No fertilizer is needed during the winter months when growth naturally slows.

🪴 Do not repot right away. Let the plant stay in its nursery pot for at least a few months to get used to its new home. Most plants go dormant in the winter so it's best to not repot them then because they could go into shock. It's best to repot every 1-2 years during the growing months of spring and summer. These plants love loose, nutrient-rich potting soil. Use a soil medium that can retain moisture. They like a compost-rich soil mixture, with less drainage materials. A standard potting mix works well.

🐜 All plants from Passionate Gem are treated monthly with a natural spray consisting of hydrogen peroxide, natural soap and neem oil diluted with water--but that doesn't mean once they go to a new home it can't catch a critter infestation from surrounding plants or soil. (Even flowers can be a carrier of pests!)  Preventative maintenance Is key! Check your plants often, clean leaves by giving the occasional shower or wiping with a clean damp cloth. Use clean pots and fresh quality soil when transplanting. A spray, like mentioned above, is a really great preventative measure as well.

Follow these care tops to ensure your plant is not only surviving but thriving!
